Jagadishwar Goud, a 65 year old farmer, while returning from his workplace-Majidpur in Hyderabad, to Gunthapally, on Thursday evening, saved a girl from getting kidnapped.
To save the travelling time, he took a shortcut through an empty road in the village. He then saw two men dragging a girl towards their car. She was screaming, but they weren’t willing to let her go and finally managed to get her into the car and left.
Jagadishwar who was watching the scene, has decided to follow the car and stopped his vehicle in front of the car. He hurriedly pulled out the girl from the car and later forced the men to come out of the car.
The drunk men pleaded me to let them go, but I took them to the Majidpur village Sarpanch, who then informed the police. The two men identified as Ramesh (26) and Srikanth (37) were booked under section 354 of IPC for assault and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.
According to the Hayathnagar police, the girl had been returning from school when the men tried to kidnap her. Jagadishwar was awarded Rs.5000 by the Police for his brave act.
