The Telangana government has planned to construct Shilparamams in each district headquarters, to preserve the dying art of Telangana.
After the bifurcation of the Telugustates, Andhra Pradesh has five Shilaparamams, where TS has only one, indicating that, the Telangana culture was neglected. So, Minister for Tourism Azmeera Chandulal indicted the government’s resolve to protect Telangana culture and heritage, in the form of Shilparamams by utilizing modern technologies and structural methods.
In the first phase, Shilaparamams will be constructed at Warangal and Medak districts. These centres will also have handloom sale counters, which will be helpful for debt-ridden handloom workers, said Chandulal.
