An MBA student, V Chandra Mohan, from the old city, Hyderabad, was booked and arrested for spreading defamatory content against the Shah Ghouse hotel.
The 22 year old guy spread the message that dog’s meat was found in Shah Ghouse restaurant. Within a short time, the news went wide and even several TV channels aired the news bulletin. Angered over this, hotel proprietor Mr. Mohammed Rabbani had lodged a defamation complaint with Cyber Crime police.
During the interrogation, Chandra Mohan said that, he had received a message in WhatsApp, that somewhere in India, a hotel was seen mixing dog’s meat to adulterate non-vegetarian items.
With the intention of playing prank with his friends, Chandra Mohan then changed the message and posted images of slaughtered dogs on a Facebook group, stating that, dog’s meat was found in Shah Ghouse restaurant on December 8th. As a result, the owner of the restaurant was arrested by the police.
Denying the statements, the hotel management has filed a complaint with the Cyberabad Police stating that the rumors about dog meat were false. It also demanded for an action against two TV channels for telecasting fake news against them.
