The Central government is reportedly planning to set up energy university near Anantapur in Andhra Pradesh. A university like this, is first of its kind, in the country. The Centre had plans to start the university by partnering with private energy firms.
The Centre, however, decided to start varsity as state university, as more government organizations are involved in producing power across India. The varsity will start functioning from next year with diploma, degree and postgraduate courses.
Regarding this, the government is drafting the bill. The energy university functions as a state university, but the Andhra Pradesh state government wants to attract investments even from the private firms.
