It is known that Telangana government introduced Rs. 5 per meal scheme in 52 centres across the twin cities and providing food to 13000 poor people.
Now, with the intention of making more people avail the benefit, IT Minister KTR announced that another 100 centres would be set up across the twin cities, and make sure 50000 poor people would satisfy their hunger, through this low cost meals, every day. GHMC funds are being used for the scheme. ISKCON is taking care of the meals preparations, KTR revealed.
With the inspiration from Tamil Nadu's government, Rs. 5 meal scheme was launched by the TRS government after the formation of the state and since then, without many breaks, the scheme is being implemented successfully and is able to satisfy the hunger of thousands every midday.
