Girija Vaidyanathan is Tamil Nadu’s new Chief Secretary
According to the official order from the Tamil Naidu state government, Girija Vaidyanathan, Additional Chief Secretary and Commissioner of Land Administration, has been appointed as the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu in place of P. Rama Mohana Rao.
Ms.Girija will also hold a full additional charge of Vigilance Commissioner and Commissioner for Administrative Reforms.
A day after Income Tax officials raided the houses and chamber of Rao, the state government replaced Rao with Girija, expecting the criticisms on the before hand. After Rs. 30 lakhs cash in new currency and 5 kgs of gold was seized from his residence, the opposition parties had demanded to sack Rao.
