A massive 216 feet high statue of Saint Ramanujacharya, on the eve of his 1000th birth anniversary, will be erected at Muchintal village on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
Standing next to the world's highest sitting statue Great Buddha (302 ft) in Thailand, this massive sculpture of Philosopher Ramanuja will also be called as the "Statue of Equality". While the overall project cost is reportedly estimated at Rs. 1000 crores, the first phase of the project, costing Rs. 250 crores will be ready by November 2017.
Chinese experts crafted statue will be placed on a 54-foot high building, mounting up its height. All the individual parts of the monument will be imported from China within next few days. Masterminded by Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamy, 700 tons of Panchaloha (gold, silver, lead, copper and iron) will be utilized in shaping up this Ramanuja's statue.
