Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee offered government job to wife of Kallol Roy Chowdhury, who died in an ATM queue in Bandel on December 3.
"In the evening, my sister-in-law received a call from a government official who offered her a job in the land and land revenue department. The official told that her papers were in process and it would be comple ted very soon. The official also told her that she would get a call by next week," said Kallol's brother Sailen Roy Chowdhury.
Kallol, an employee of the land revenue office at Chandrabhaga in Cooch Behar. Just before the call was made to the Roy Chowdhury home in Behala's Parnasree, Banerjee announced in the Assembly that the state government would give jobs to the family members of two persons who died after the Centre's demonetization announcement.
Apart from Kallol, Bengal government even promised a job for a family member of Shibu Nandi, a Burdwan resident who committed suicide after failing to withdraw Rs 5000 from his account with a cooperative society.
