SBI account holders, protesting the severe cash crunch, staged a road blockade in Toli Chowki, Hyderabad. It led to the massive traffic jam on the old Mumbai highway.

The issue took the heat after the bank officials refused to give more than Rs. 2000 to the account holders. The public who has been waiting since early morning, entered into an argument with the bank officials. The bank staff downed the shutters, after the situation turned worse.    

Irritated over the bank officials attitude, public then began a spontaneous protest by sitting on the road, and blocking the way by parking their two-wheelers. The blockade led to long traffic jam on Toli Chowki-Sheikpet road in the peak morning hours. 

Adding to it, as the road connects to IT clusters of Hitech City and Gachibowli, large number of techies were also stranded. Senior police officials rushed there and requested the protesters to remove the road blockade.
