It is known that GHMC has witnessed never before collections, after it announced that it would accept demonetized notes for the utility payments.

Now moving a step forward, to encourage the cashless transactions, GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy announced cash prizes worth Rs. 5 lakh per week for those making cash payment of property tax, trade license fee and other fees under GHMC limits.

The people making the cashless transactions during the December 7th to 11th, are eligible for the cash prizes. The names of those will be selected through lots. The first prize winner will get Rs. 50000 cash prize and Rs. 20000 to the second prize winner. Two persons will be given prizes of 10 thousand each and 8 persons will be given prizes of 2500 each. 

Currently, only 12% people pay their taxes online and the GHMC is willing to take this percentage to 70 to 80 by next year, by initiating various measures.
