Jayalalithaa’s final respects done
Tamil Nadu ex-Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s final respects were performed at Merina beach in Chennai, amidst of the huge number of fans and followers.
Draped in her favorite green color saree, Jayalalithaa's body was put in a sandalwood casket. She was buried at the MGR memorial, which is also home to the mortal remains of her mentor and AIADMK founder M. G. Ramachandran.
With the government’s respects, the funeral ceremony of the iconic leader was conducted in a huge manner. Jayalalithaa’s friend Shashikala was throughout the ceremony and even Venkaiah Naidu spent quality time throughout the process. The final respects ended at 6pm and all the Chennaites went back, teary eyed, bidding good bye to their Amma.
