Slashing all the rumors against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by the oppositions, the dynamic PM topped the online reader's poll for TIME Person of the Year 2016.

In a poll closed last night, Modi won 18% of the votes, while several other biggies like like US President-elect Donald Trump, incumbent US leader Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin could stop only at 7%.

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and US Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton surprisingly secured only 2% and 4% of the votes respectively. 

Time's editors will decide the final Person of the Year later this week. This is not the first time for Modi to win the Time title. He also won the same in the year 2014, with 16% of the votes.

For the fourth year in a row, Modi is among the contenders for Time's 'Person of the Year' honour, which the US publication bestows every year to the one "who has most influenced the news and our world in the past year, for good or ill".
