New Rs.20, Rs.50 notes now
After demonetizing Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes and introducing Rs. 2000, Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 notes, Reserve Bank of India, is now planning to introduce even the smaller denomination notes.
On Sunday, RBI announced that it would issue new notes of Rs 20 and Rs 50. Reportedly, new notes of Rs 20 with inset letter ‘L’ in both number panels will soon be issued by RBI. On the other side, new Rs 50 notes will be issued without inset letter in both number panels.
Along with the new notes, even the old Rs. 20 and Rs. 50 notes will continue to be legal tender, RBI clarified.
