3 Universities from Andhra Pradesh and 1 university from Telangana have found a place in the Times Higher Education rankings for Top 300 Universities in BRICS (Brazil-Russia-India-China-South Africa) and emerging economies.
Osmania University from Telangana, and Andhra University (Vizag), Acharya Nagarjuna University (Guntur) and Sri Venkateswara University (Tirupati) from AP made it to the elite list.
Earlier in 2015, Andhra University (Rank 193) was the only one from Telugu States to feature in the top 200 universities. This year, its rank is in the 201-250 slot. Even OU and ANU are in the same slot. As many as 27 Universities from India featured in Top 300. Indian Institute of Science-Bangalore (Rank 14) is the top rated University in the country.
Rankings based on 5 Parameters: Teaching (30%), Research (20%), Citations (20%), International Outlook (20%) and Industry Income (10%).
