Old Rs. 500 notes will not be accepted from today
It is known that the Centre earlier announced to allow old Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes to buy petrol, diesel, CNG, toll fees and Air tickets. But allegedly, as the government felt that, the people are misusing it, the centre stopped accepting the old Rs. 500 notes from Friday midnight.
But the offer is still open to buy railway and RTC bus tickets till 15th of this month. Even to avail the services of subsidy gas cylinders, government schools, colleges, ration shops, mobile prepaid recharges, the old notes can be used till December 15th.
The public can now exchange their old Rs. 500 notes only in the banks, with no option left.
