New currency in rural areas now
The Central government has finally agreed to grant money to the co-operative banks. It said new currency will be made available in 1.55 lakh post offices across India.
According to Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta Das, NABARD and RBI have been advised to make cash available to district cooperative banks to ensure that farmers have access to funds. NABARD sanctioned Rs. 21000 crores to the district central cooperative bank.
