No increase in assembly constituencies
Centre confirmed that there would be no delimitation of assembly constituencies in both the Telugu states till 2026. According to the AP State Reorganisation Act-2014, Assembly constituencies of AP and Telangana can be increased from 175 and 119 to 225 and 153 respectively.
It is known that earlier both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments expected high about the assembly constituencies. But Minister of State for Home Affairs, Hansraj Ahir made it clear that delimitation is not possible till 2026.
