After the high denomination notes Rs. 1000 and Rs. 500 were demonetized, the value of Rs. 100, Rs.50, Rs. 20 and Rs. 10 notes increased at once. In the same flow, RBI is now planning to bring back Rs. 1 notes into the circulation.
With the intention of increasing the coins, RBI earlier brought down the lower denomination notes, and stopped printing Rs. 1 notes 30 years ago. But it now felt the necessity of bringing back those notes.
Not only Rs. 1, RBI is keen to bring several lower denomination notes into the circulation. Regarding this, RBI already started printing notes in Nasik Currency Printing Press in Maharashtra.
