With the intention of promoting the tourism, the Telangana government is now planning most of the irrigation projects, so that it would be useful for both tourism and also film shootings.

The state government is planning water sports, boating , landscapes for film shootings, holiday stays and paragliding around the irrigation projects in the state. Regarding this, Nagarjuna Sagar dam, Kinnerasani project, Mid Manair reservoir and Kuntala water falls have already been developed as favorite tourist destinations. 

On the similar lines, even the projects like Kaleswaram, Pranahitha, Kalwakurthi, Yellampally, Srirama irrigation project and Sriram Sagar stage -2, which were under construction, would be developed as the tourist places.

Construction of recreation clubs, boarding and residential facilities, food courts, swimming pools near the project sites would be taken up once the proposals are approved by the CM KCR, the officials said.

The state government is planning to rope in private investors and also seek the central funds under tourism promotional programmes for this particular tourism development project.
