If you are expecting to pick up some new currency from the ATMs, you would only be left with the disappointment.
After the demonetization, ATMs are closed for two days and right from the start of the third day, public in large numbers gathered at the ATMs to draw the money. But not many could avail the facility, as ATMs are down in several places in the country.
Adding to it, Rs. 2000 notes are not yet added in the ATM machines. According to the State Bank of India Chairman Arundhati Bhattacharya, the software in the existing ATMs should be restructured. Even the security features of the new currency notes is yet to be added in the new ATMs. So it would take a few more days to withdraw the new currency notes from the ATMs.
