New Ration cards in January
Telangana government is planning to provide new ration cards to the people in January 2017. As the districts are reorganized in the state, the officials are planning to make necessary changes to the cards.
On the other side, central government has provided codes to the new districts. Accordingly, the cards are being prepared.
As of now, there is no clarity on the number of cards for each district. All those formalities would be completed by the end of December and the cards would come out by January, said Civil Supplies Department Chief CV Anand. Reportedly there are 86 lakh ration cards across the state.
