HC stays Secretariat demolition
Admitting a petition filed by Congress MLA T Jeevan Reddy, the Hyderabad High Court asked the Telangana government not to proceed with the demolition of the Secretariat buildings until further orders.
While the petitioner stated that, the state government has decided to demolish the Secretariat only because of Vaastu reasons, the Court asked the government to submit reasons before going ahead with the demolition.
On the other side, the advocate general, on behalf of the government told the court that, new Secretariat was planned only to facilitate administrative convenience and not for vaastu reasons as alleged by the petitioner. The court asked the government to file its counter with all the details by November 10th for further hearing in the case.
