Funds released for irrigation projects
Telangana Irrigation Minister Harish Rao said that out of 99 projects that occupied place in “Pradhana Manthri Krishi Sinchay Yojana” (PMKSY), 11 are from Telangana itself.
Out of the 80000 crores allocated for 99 projects, the Central government has received Rs. 15000 crores as the first release from NABARD. Central Minister Uma Bharathi has advised the states to complete the works with no delay.
Below are the other issues, Harish Rao revealed at the meeting:
- Sought Centre to release the loans for the projects, with no linkage with FRBM.
- Sought to release Rs. 7000 crores funds for 11 selected projects. All those funds should not be linked to the loan limit.
- Sought to release Rs. 300 crores for devotional related projects and another Rs. 300 crores for other small projects, in the next 2-3 days.
