Telugu state Chief Ministers- KCR and Chandrababu Naidu intend to reshuffle their cabinets to induct defector opposition MLAs.
Reportedly KCR is willing Naidu to take the first move, as TDP earlier criticized Telangana government for inducting Telugu Desam legislator Talasani Srinivas Yadav in the Cabinet. Regarding this, Revanth Reddy even filed a case in the High Court, which is pending.
According to the constitution, the Governor, on the advise of CM, can induct anyone in the cabinet. But this rule was criticized by oppositions saying that, how an elected MLA from one party could be inducted into the Cabinet without the party being a part of the ruling alliance.
Naidu is most likely to induct 3 to 4 YSRCP MLAs, who had defected to the TDP, who reportedly would be Bhuma Nagireddy (Nandyala), Jyothula Nehru (Jaggampet), N. Amaranath Reddy (Palamner) and Jaleel Khan (Vijayawada West), all ex-YSRC MLAs.
While the maximum limit is 26, AP cabinet along with CM currently has 20 ministers. So during the reshuffle, Naidu is expected to drop a few ministers to accommodate some TDP leaders. The situation is same in Telangana cabinet, on which the cap is 18 ministers only including the Chief Minister. KCR is expected to stop at least four legislators to invite new ministers into the cabinet.
