For allegedly duping unemployed youth with e-commerce jobs and fraudulent investment schemes, world billiards champion Michael Joseph Ferreira and few others were taken into custody. But the Hyderabad High Court stayed the criminal case as of now.
The 79 year old and his associates are facing several criminal cases in Mumbai and Hyderabad on charges of aligning with fraudulent firms like Hongkong based Q-net and Hyderabad-based Vihaan direct selling marketing private limited that they had duped youth to the tune of over 100 crores.
Senior counsel D V Sitarama Murthy, on behalf of Ferriera, told the court that the his client was only a share holder in the Vihaan company and is not related to the functioning of company and even he is away from Q-net, a Hong Kong-based company. After the stay, the Padmabhushan Awardee who was brought on transit bail from Mumbai to Hyderabad, was sent back to Mumbai police custody again.
