To make the issue of agricultural crisis in Telangana bigger and grab the political mileage, the Telangana Congress is trying to rope in Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, to tour the state and meet farmers. 

Rahul recently met the state party delegation in UP, and showed interest on the same. So the T Congress leaders felt that, it is the right time to bring Rahul to the state, hoping that would jolt the state government. 

"Rahul is concerned about the recurrent suicides of farmers in Telangana. When we requested him to tour the state, he readily accepted. He wants to tour at least three districts in two days. The dates and schedule will be finalised after consulting with his office," Congress senior leader Shabbir Ali said.

As part of the preparations for the 'Kisan Yatra', TPCC has instructed district committees to identify families of the farmers who have committed suicides during the last 2.5 years. The state Congress in-charge Digvijay Singh and senior leader Ghulam Nabi Azad would reportedly participate in the assignment.
