TSRTC planning IITS in Hyderabad
Telangana State Transport Development Corporation (TSRTC) is planning to introduce an InteIligent Integrated Transport System (IITS) which enables the passengers to know the exact status (location, etc) of the bus.
Reacting to the issue, TSRTC Managing Director GV Ramana Rao said that he was impressed with the IITS being implemented in Paris. After being convinced about its utility value, discussions were held with the French government and an MoU was signed.
On an experimental basis, the system would be introduced as a pilot project on the Koti-Uppal route. Later, it would be extended to all TSRTC buses across the state. The French Government would bear the entire cost of the project.
