Minor dies after family puts her on fast for luck
A 13 year old girl lost her life, after observing fast for 68 days in Hyderabad.
Kumari Aradhana, a Jain community girl, was studying 10th class in Hyderabad's St. Francis school. After her father suffered huge loss in jewellery business, she started observing "chaturmas" fast to bring back luck to the family. But the fast worsened the girl's health condition and finally she lost her life.
Responding to it, the Child Right Association demanded an immediate action against the girl's parents. Reportedly, a priest from Chennai had advised the couple to make their daughter observe fast for at least 4 months in order to get profits in business.
"During the meeting, the victim collapsed on the ground and slipped into coma. She was shifted to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead," complaint by Bala Hakkula Sangham read.
