Hyderabad police is no more in a mood to tolerate the black magicians in the city. In just a day, the city police nabbed 16 such people, who allegedly indulged in sorcery, from different parts of the Old City. The police said that the black magicians were extracting money from the innocent people by claiming to have extraordinary powers.
Among the arrested, Anwarullah Khan alias Disco Baba, a self-proclaimed Unani doctor had collected the whopping Rs 35 lakh from Syed Iftekar Hussain last year, saying that there was hidden treasure in his house and he would perform black magic to take it out.
Anwarullah then performed few prayers inside Hussain's house and planted fake gold biscuits and diamonds there. Believing them to be the original old valuables, Hussain paid Rs. 35 lakh periodically. Hussain, who later came to know that truth, requested Khan to return the cash. But Khan threatened Hussain with the dire consequences.
There are several such people who got cheated in the hands of the black magicians. Executing a perfect plan, it is good that, Hyderabad police is concentrating on nabbing such fake people.
Police have registered cases under relevant sections of IPC besides under relevant provisions of Drugs & Magic remedies Act 1954, Sec 23 of Juvenile Justice Act and has taken up the investigation.
