Due to the heavy rains in Telangana, the authorities sounded flood alert as the water level is rising in Godavari river.

As all the projects across the river are overflowing, to prevent loss of life, the administration in 5 districts were put on high alert by taking up evacuation from low-lying areas in towns and villages facing the flood threat.

After reviewing the situation, Telangana Chief Minister KCR directed the ministers, MPs and MLAs to monitor the situation in their constituencies. He even alerted collectors and superintendents of police of Adilabad, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Warangal and Khammam districts, as the water could rise to a dangerous level due to huge inflows from upstream Maharashtra.

KCR also said that, all the reservoirs, including Himayatsagar and Gandipet, which are the major sources of drinking water supply to Hyderabad were full.So the people are happy as that it would be sufficient to overcome drought like situation for 2 years.
