Telangana RTC has come forward with yet another new proposal called free Wi-Fi, to attract the citizens.

In 115 AC and Metro Delux buses, TSRTC is introducing this facility, MD Purshottham said. Currently these services were started in few buses. In about a week’s time, more buses will be availed Wi-Fi facility, he added.

The passengers can use Wi-Fi facility for free for the first 30 minutes and later if they prefer to use, they are liable to pay the minimum charges. Collaborating with Rural India Company, TSRTC is introducing these Wi-Fi services, ED said.

Unlike the ordinary and metro express buses, other buses are registering a less occupancy rate, but the maintenance cost of AC and other buses is turning out to be costly. This made the officials think of a proposal like Free Wi-Fi.

IT Minister KTR had earlier taken an initiative of introducing free Wi-Fi for 30 minutes on Tank Bund. As that was found successful, TSRTC felt that the same proposal would work out in the buses too.
