Regarding the Krishna river water sharing issue between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, the Apex council has resolved to constitute a joint team of engineers to study the availability of water in the river.
Adding to it, the council even decided to install telemetric equipment at all major projects to assess the drawl of water by the two States and request the Krishna Tribunal to make proportionate allocation of water.
Responding to the issue, Union Water Resources Minister Uma Bharti said, "We will request the Krishna Water Disputes Tribunal to make proportionate allocation to the two States based on the report.”
As mandated by the provisions of AP Reorganization act 2014, Ms. Bharti convened the first meeting of the Apex Council on Wednesday. She said that the meeting had been convened to resolve the disputes between the Telugu states for Krishna water and the discussions were held in a cordial manner, with their representatives presenting the points of view during the interaction.
