One more suicide in HCU
After the sensational Rohith Vemula's incident, here is yet another suicide from University of Hyderabad that is going viral. A 20 year old Praveen was found hanging from the ceiling of his hostel room in the early hours of Saturday.
The hostel authorities rushed him to a near by private school, where he was declared dead. Reportedly, Praveen hails from Shahbad town in Mahabubnagar district and he is pursuing masters of fine arts degree course in HCU. Neither suicide note nor any caste identity of Praveen is revealed as of now.
Touted to be a dalit, Rohith Vemula's suicide has created a huge stir in the functioning of HCU. Thousands of students and activists have hit the streets in protest across India amid a renewed debate on festering casteism in educational campuses.
