Nalgonda's history in threat
The formation of the new districts is going to erase the history of Nalgonda,the locals opine. It is known that, Nalgonda was decided to split into three districts -Nalgonda, Suryapet and Yadadri.
The role of Nalgonda in Telangana peasants protest is historical. But once the new districts are formed, all such history will be erased. Telangana government is speeding up the works to catch up the scheduled date-Dussehra for forming the new districts.
The popular Shathavahanas, Chalukyas, Kakatiyas, Kutubshahis and several other kings started their ruling from here. Nalgonda was formed in 1905. As the district is between 2 black color mountains, it is named as Neelagiri, but later people started calling it as Nalgonda.
