After the central government has announced the special package to Andhra Pradesh, even Telangana is now keen to get some kind of financial assistance. The Telangana state government, regarding this, already sought Rs. 50 crores of financial assistance from the centre, upto 5 years, for each of the backward district in the state.
In a meeting with the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Telangana IT Minister KTR has put forth the demand. However, there is no clarity on how many districts in Telangana were considered as backward.
Adding to it, KTR even sought Rs. 24,500 crores for Mission Bhageeratha and Mission Kakatiya projects, as Niti Aayog already cleared those. However, there is no assurance from Union Minister as of now, but mere maintaining mum gives a wrong signal to the common public, that the Centre is concerned of AP, but not Telangana. So any type of action is definitely needed.
