5 IS operatives, NIA arrested on June 29th, had disclosed their plans to carry out attacks in areas like Bhagyalakshmi temple near Charminar in the old city and the IT Corridor at Madhapur in Cyberabad.
IT exports annually are touching Rs. 75000 crores in Hyderabad and so, the city has become an obvious target. However, a check at Raheja Mindspace IT Park at Cyberabad, which houses 135 software companies, exposed some glaring loopholes in the security setup.
In the main building of Raheja corporate office, 150 HD CCTV cameras have been set up and are being monitored by experts team. But the problem is with the entrance gate at the building, say the experts.
“If we get the slightest suspicion, we alert our security people who in turn inform the Cyberabad police,” chief security officer of Raheja Mindspace, Moses Sudhakar said, adding that it was not possible to physically check around one lakh people and 40,000 vehicles entering the software park.
On the other side, Kanneganti, who has done a post-doctoral study on counter-terrorism in Israel, said, “What is shocking is that none of the security guards are armed. What will happen if heavily-armed terrorists make a surprise attack?”
So there is an every chance for the terrorists to turn the location as hell within minutes. The safety precautions on the before hand are need to be taken atleast now, the analysts opine.
