Municipal Administration Minister KTR who has recently started making sudden inspections at the works handed over to the contractors by the government, continued the same to reach out to sand mafia in Karimnagar district.

Enquiring about the project from the project officers, KTR even examined the illegal dumping sites in Kottapalli village, set up to keep the sand and directed the officials to seize them immediately and sell them. Speaking to the media, KTR said that, the sudden inspections would be carried out through out the state, adding that, sand mafia would be dealt with iron hand.

The minister further assured that the best municipalities would get incentives and also stressed the importance of establishing nurseries by Warangal, Karimnagar and Khammam Corporations by next year according to their need of saplings for the Haritha Haram programme.
