Telangana government will bring out a policy for NRIs, better than Kerala and Punjab, NRI affairs minister KTR said.

In a meeting with all the stakeholders seeking suggestions to incorporate in the proposed NRI policy of the state, KTR said, “I have received a lot of suggestions for the policy. We will definitely bring the best policy for NRIs. The draft policy will be prepared soon and it will be placed before the Cabinet for its approval."

The new policy focuses on solving Telangana NRIs problems. "There is no problem for skilled workers. We will provide rehabilitation for the semi-skilled and unskilled workers, who returns to the state," KTR said.

From Telangana, the unskilled workers were mostly migrated to Malaysia and Thailand. Telangana cultural department would create awareness on the fake travel agents, KTR said adding that he would soon meet Union external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj and prepare the NRI policy in tune with the Centre rules.

The minister also said that there would be appointed a special officer to assist NRIs wishing to invest in Telangana and a corpus fund intended for the welfare of NRIs would also be established.
