2 women found mother after 28 years in Hyderabad

Two Dubai based women daughters Ayesha (33) and Fatima (32), found their mother Nazia Sayeed (60) in Hyderabad after 28 years of separation and Hyderabad police played a key role in this operation.

Nazia got married to Rasheed in 1981 and few months later, the couple went to Fujairah. It was there, Nazia found that her husband was already married but still decided to stay back with him. After 2 years, Ayesha was born and Fatima a year after. In 1988, Rasheed gave Nazia, a triple talaq and sent her back to India, but the daughters stayed with him. He later married another Hyderabad woman and took her to UAE. The family later settled down in Dubai.

Meanwhile, Nazia’s paresnts tried to get her married again and regarding this, they fixed it with a fruit vendor, who already has two sons and daughter. Upon inquiry, the Hyderabad police found out that, Nazia’s parents passed away, but one person remembered that a woman named Nazia was married to a rich UAE man by a qazi in Barkas. The qazi died years ago, but his son, who signed as witness, named two relatives of the bride as Ismail and Salim. After nearly three months, we found the duo. They led us to Nazia,” the police said.

Nazia who rarely remembers anything about her daughters, has recollected that her younger daughter has six fingers. Upon cross checking, Fatima was found with extra finger, which she removed few years back, out of surgery. Confirming then, a meeting was fixed at the DCP’s office at Purani Haveli.

As Nazia waited there Thursday, Ayesha, her husband, their 10-year-old son, and Fatima reached the office. What followed was an emotional reunion as the two women embraced their mother. “We didn’t let go of her for half-an-hour or so,” they said.

“We never thought we would meet our mother in our lifetime,” Ayesha said.

“We did not even know which part of Hyderabad she was from. But, south zone police managed to find her. It is nothing short of a miracle,’’ Fatima said.
