Dussehra celebrations in US

Telangana American Telugu Association (TATA) a non-profit socio-cultural organization from Greater Philadelphia region in America has organized a cultural event on the occasion of Dussehra and made a very noble effort to celebrate and sustain our culture which can be passed along to future generations.

This event was organized in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Around 1,000 people from Pennsylvania and neighboring states like Delaware, New Jersey, New York and Maryland have attended the event and made it successful. There were around 100 participants performing various cultural programs which included dance performances, fashion show and singing songs. Famous Telangana folk songs writer and singer, Bhikshu Naik was one of the main performers at the event.

To this event, Pennsylvania Senator Andrew Dinniman has attended as the Chief Guest and Arjun Reddy movie producer Pranay Reddy Vanga has attended as Guest of Honor.  TATA President Jhansi Reddy has attended the event. Executive Committee members and senior leaders within TATA and different national and local organizations also attended this event.

On this occasion, Senator Andrew Dinniman has addressed the audience and wished them a very happy Dussehra. He also mentioned how Indian Community is growing in his jurisdiction and how the ratings of schools in his jurisdiction are going up. He also expressed his interest in learning more about the Indian culture.

Following Senator’s address, TATA President Jhansi Reddy has addressed the audience, conveyed Dussehra wishes and mentioned how TATA is organizing Bathukamma & Dussehra celebrations across different states in America.

She also congratulated the Greater Philadelphia core team for organizing such successful event. Advisory Council Chair Dr. Paila Malla Reddy has conveyed his Dussehra wishes and congratulated the Greater Philadelphia core team for a successful event.

In addition to cultural performances, different vendors have set up their stalls. People had great time going through these stalls and enjoyed delicious south Indian dinner.  Free Flu Vaccines was also made available at the event for the attendees.

The Greater Philadelphia TATA core team members which includes Board of Director Suresh Venkanagiri , Regional Vice Presidents Prasad Kunarapu, Ramana Kotha, Bhaskar Pinna, Venu Enugula and Regional Coordinators Vamshi Gullapalli, Sheshi Kasira, Amar Vemula, Yaadi Pathkula, Kiran Guduru, Seerinvas Kairi, Kavitha Thatikonda, Janardan Baddam, Satish Sunkanapalli, Swamy Bodige, Venu Bathini, Siva Reddy, Nisheel Gardas, Rajesh Aleti, Satya Mudireddy and Nagarjuna Yada have actively participated in this event and received numerous appreciations from the audience for organizing such successful event.
