Telangana Chief Minister KCR accused former Union Minister P. Chidambaram, of reading out the Congress script on Telangana's development. KCR said that, Chidambaram is not Telangana native and also is probably blind and so is unable to witness the progress achieved by TRS in a short span of 2.5 years.
Speaking at a public meeting at Tirumalaipally in Khammam district, KCR said that, TRS government is able to implement welfare measures with an outlay of Rs. 35,000 crore, which no other State was doing. He questioned Congress, whether any Congress ruled state was giving Rs. 1000 pension for old aged and widows and Rs. 1500 pension for the physically challenged.
On the other side, KCR announced the salary hikes to the home guards. He accused the previous governments of ignoring the welfare of them. He also announced that, the recent Padmashree awardee, D. Ramaiah, will be made ambassador of Telangana government’s flagship programme, Haritha Haram.
